The change so far has been good. I've stopped my private teaching - it was basically 2 hours driving for an hour (maximum, usually only half an hour) of teaching so it was no longer worth it for me. I'm now teaching all day Tuesday, all day Thursday and half day Friday and I've already noticed some differences. I didn't realise it would affect my psychologically as much as it has. Last Tuesday it was lunch time and I started thinking, only one more day after this and then I thought... no! Day off tomorrow! And I immediately felt like I had more energy. It was very strange. On the downside, I put all that energy into my thesis instead of preparing for the rest of the week and consequently had some pretty average lessons which I was disappointed about, but I have rectified that for this week already. So overall, it's been a positive change.
What hasn't been as great is the fact that I've become a bit addicted to a game on my phone. It's a Simpsons game, and I think it's pretty cool, but I've been down this road before with gaming addiction and it's starting to pervade my life and my sleep. Don't use your phones just before bed, people!! The light from the screen stimulates your brain and all the receptor things in your eyes and wakes you back up again, thus disrupting your sleep pattern. It's like self sabotage!
