Every so often I get messages from people who have come across my blog, who want to thank me for writing about my experiences, and who also often share a little bit about themselves and why they came looking for narcolepsy information in the first place. Sometimes it's people who have been diagnosed, sometimes it's people who are close to those diagnosed. Every message I've received has always been positive and lovely, and many people have even said that what I've written about my own experience has meant that they then understand their own a little better, which is just glorious. Little old me, making a difference like that! I even got to meet someone a few years ago, a teenage girl who was having a hard time with her HSC and making decisions that could affect her life. I haven't spoken to those people for a while... I hope they're doing okay, and that the narcolepsy hasn't taken over. It doesn't have to!!
Quite a few of the people who write to me also usually don't leave a correct email address, which is perfectly fine, but it does mean I can't write back to them personally to say thank you for taking the time. So this is my general shout out to those people who have seen fit to contact me with their appreciation. More than anything, for me, it's nice to know that people are reading. I'm sporadic, I know, I guess the life of a perpetual sleeper isn't really that interesting, but there are still people who care and are interested, and that's awesome. You're all awesome. Thank you!!
