I missed out on a few things... my British housemate insisted on doing as many touristy things as possible while we were there which made for a very packed in Sunday. I had to bail out for a few hours because I could feel myself winding down, so they dropped me back at the hotel where I slept for two hours while they went to the National Museum. I actually wanted to go there... but I was finding it hard to concentrate, keep my eyes open etc. I had already napped for half an hour in the car whilst the girls checked out Parliament House. I figured... I saw it in Year 6, I've seen it all. The sleep at the hotel was a good idea, it then kept me awake and alive enough to see me through dinner and the rest of the evening. I think I did well, considering I stayed out til 1am the previous night (a big deal for me). I did have to leave the club we were at a little earlier than the other two, but even then it was only about twenty minutes earlier and I was able to just shut my eyes in the car while I waited for them. Today (Monday) I was able to catch some nap time in the car whilst we were driving back home via Wollongong. And now I'm home in enough time to nap before I take my puppy preschool class!!
It was interesting this weekend, being so conscious of what was happening to my body as I got tireder and tireder. Towards the end of the night on Saturday it actually seemed like I was gradually shutting down... losing energy, slowing down the dancing, not looking at people, starting to stare at a wall.... when I realised I had gotten to that stage I thought, right, I need to get out of here because I probably look reeeaaaally weird right now. Well, that and I was totally exhausted. But I'm proud to have stuck it out as long as I did.
